Let’s talk about the City of Irvine(谈谈尔湾的过去，现在及将来)admin
Being a local resident in Irvine and a local real estate professional I thought I would share what I have learned and observed about Irvine, in the past, at the present and in the future.
1. Irvine’s Excellent Track Record
Since its inception, the city of Irvine has historically ranked as one of the best places to live in the United States.
Over the course of the last 10-15 years, CNN Money, Businessweek, WalletHub, and Money Magazine have all ranked Irvine as one of the top 5 best cities in the United States.
Irvine’s schools are consistently among the best in the nation.
Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) high schools have been repeatedly ranked by Newsweek as some of America’s top high schools.
IUSD has regularly come in among the highest performing school districts in California with regard to standardized test scores.
The city is home to the world-renowned University of California, Irvine, and branch campuses of Chapman, Cal State Fullerton, Pepperdine and USC.
Irvine has also historically been one of the safest cities in the United States.
For 14 years in a row, Irvine has remained the safest city in America with a population of 250,000 or more based on FBI statistics.
Irvine’s fiscal strength has also gone nearly unmatched.
For the third consecutive year, the city of Irvine was ranked #1 out of America’s 75 largest cities in Truth in Accounting’s fiscal strength survey.
2. Present Statistics
With a 2020 population of 303,956, it is the 14th largest city in California and the 65th largest city in the United States.
Irvine is currently growing at a rate of 3.65% annually and its population has increased by 43.12% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 212,375 in 2010.
The average household income in Irvine is $131,313, among the highest in the nation.
3. Poised for Future Growth
The city is a major attractor in terms of workforce, jobs, innovation, and foreign investment due to the city’s high standing in all the categories listed above.
Much of success of the city can be attributed to cooperation between academia, the private sector, and the city.
Because of Irvine’s strong school system at all levels and attractiveness as a place to live and raise a family, business and high-tech employers don’t have to look far for a skilled workforce.
In turn, Irvine’s highly educated, highly skilled workforce drives Orange County’s “Job Engine” and propels the city’s potential for further economic success.
Irvine hosts 49 of the top 100 publicly traded companies headquartered in Orange County, and more than one-third of the companies ranked in the Fortune 500 have a corporate presence in the city.
With over 200,000 jobs in the city, the jobs-to-population ratio is 94.8%, the best ratio of all American cities of its size or larger.
A division of the Financial Times of London ranked Irvine as the #3 Small American City of the Future for Economic Potential. The Irvine Business Complex (IBC) is the county’s largest business center, comprising 2,700 acres. Further south, the Irvine Spectrum continues to draw technology and research companies. Businesses based in the IBC and the Spectrum account for 150,000 jobs.
With Irvine poised to grow significantly over the next decade, and much of its growth in the high-tech sectors, Irvine’s strength and diversity, coupled with its focus on community, is vital to driving the region’s economy. With such prominence and desirability comes even more opportunity and growth.
Hope this helps with giving you’re a bird eye’s view on Irvine; so you can make a better decision on coming here to live, work and invest.
